Can high school students receive community credit for the volunteer service?

Yes, high school students are able to receive community credit for volunteer service.  The student must sign-in on our Youth Sign-in Sheet and log in the time you start and and stop at the Admin Table. The student must bring their school community credit form with them when volunteering or mail the form to The Widow's Pantry, 717 Emerson Street, NW, Washington, DC  2001.  We will complete the form, certify and mail it.

If I was ordered to community service by a Court, can I perform it with The Widow's Pantry, Inc.?

Yes, You will need to sign in with our Admin team, (please print your information clearly) and provide the Admin table with the name of the court and judge that ordered you to community service along with the address.  You will receive a letter within a two-week turn around for the service you provided with The Widow's Pantry, Inc.

Can my church ministry come as a group to volunteer?

Yes, you can coordinate your church organization volunteer time by calling

Can I receive a tax deductible receipt for clothes and money donated to The Widow's Pantry?

Yes, tax deductible receipts can either be mailed or given at the park while we serve for all clothes and money donations.

Is The Widow's Pantry, Inc a 501(c)(3) non profit organization?

Yes, we are a 501(c)(3) and registered in the District of Columbia as a corporation.

Where does The Widow's Pantry provide your volunteer service?

At Franklin Square Park most second Saturdays and the Marvin Gaye Park most fourth Saturday's.

How can I donate food and seasonal clothing?

Contact the Widow's pantry on (202) 723-6839, to arrange for clothes to be picked up or bring to the park we are serving?  We do not accept bed linen or small appliances.

How can I donate money?

Use our PayPal button on the web site, www.widowspantry.org or by US mail to 717 Emerson Street, NW, Washington, DC  20011.   Make checks and money orders payable to The Widow's Pantry. Do not send cash.

How do I sign up to volunteer?

Come out to the park on volunteer days and sign up at our Admin table. Fill out a waiver and application form located on this web site and bring with you.  Take a 5-minute orientation.
